AVIATION ENGLISH TRAINING
ICAO English Test Simulator: online practice for pilots
Try ICAO English test-style speaking tasks online with operational scenarios and automated formative feedback. Practice for pilots; not an official test.
Practical preparation for pilots, air traffic controllers and aviation professionals.
Training and formative feedback only. The platform does not issue an official ICAO proficiency result.
Practise Aviation English with realistic communication tasks
Use aviation scenarios to practise speaking, comprehension, vocabulary and interaction in routine and non-routine situations. Compatible activities provide automated formative feedback informed by the six ICAO language descriptors, while making clear that practice results are not an official examination or rating.
A simulator for learning, not certification
Activity types and feedback depend on the available content, evidence and subscription plan. Eligible new learners can explicitly activate seven days of full platform access after account verification and onboarding, without a payment card or automatic charge.
- Aviation communication scenarios
- Six-descriptor learning framework
- Formative automated feedback
- Plan-based access with clear limits
Try a guided Aviation English listening example
Listen to a bird-strike exchange, distinguish confirmed facts from unknown damage, and compare your answer with an explained example. No account is needed for this sample.
This is an original, scripted learning demonstration, not an official test or a scored diagnostic. Your sample answer is not saved and your voice is not recorded. It demonstrates language comprehension, not pilot decision-making.

Focused communication practice
Choose an activity in the practice hub, then select an available question or scenario from its list. Work on a specific communication task instead of selecting a target ICAO level or an isolated descriptor.
Full randomized simulation
Complete the four activities below in one continuous session. Prompts are selected automatically from the reviewed bank. Content can repeat; this is not a replica of one authority's test.
The four communication activities in the platform
This is the order in a full session. Focused practice opens just the area you choose. These activity names also appear in the practice hub; official providers may use different tasks, timing and sequences.
Aviation Topics
Listen to an aviation-related question and give a developed spoken answer. Explain your ideas with relevant details and examples rather than memorising an interview script.
Interacting as a Pilot
Listen to simulated ATC messages and respond as the pilot. The selected scenario guides the exchange and any clarification stages; this is structured audio-based practice, not a promise of unrestricted live ATC conversation.
Unexpected Situations
Listen to a pilot–controller exchange, retell what was said and respond to follow-up prompts. Distinguish confirmed facts from unknown information. Comparisons may be requested when the activity includes several situations.
Picture Description
Observe an aviation image, describe visible facts and answer the associated prompts. Mark possible causes or consequences as inference rather than presenting them as facts shown in the image.
What automated feedback can — and cannot — tell you
Reports use the six ICAO language descriptors as a framework for formative study observations. Coverage depends on the task and the usable evidence; a single response may not support every dimension.
- Automated feedback can be incomplete or inaccurate. It does not assign an official ICAO level, licence endorsement or certificate.
- The simulator does not promise an exact diagnosis of individual sounds, a predicted exam result or an automatic rewrite of your study plan after each response.
- These are pilot language-learning tasks, not an assessment of operational decision-making or a replacement for flight training and current procedures.
Free diagnostic and simulator access are different
The public listening sample needs no account. The free integrated diagnostic uses a free account and connects objective questions with oral tasks. The full simulator and focused practice require the corresponding feature access. Eligible new learners can explicitly activate seven days of full access after verification and onboarding, without a payment card or automatic charge; continued access follows the current Plans page.
